Karas’ Speech

Prospero's Speech

Prospero's Speech

I like a lot of Loreena McKennitt songs, but they don’t tend to lend themselves to anime music videos … until I saw the first DVD of Karas.

And I actually finished editing this one several months ago, then it took me this long to want to fix the flash-frames and actually get it online. Totally missed the Project A-Kon music video contest deadline, but I have completed a music video this year, so at least that’s something.

Thanks to Kentobean for the DVD.

Just Another Day

Just Another Day

Just Another Day

There are SPOILERS in this anime music video for Angel’s Egg, so watch at your own peril, and if you like Oingo Boingo.

If you haven’t seen Angel’s Egg, and this amv makes you want to, understand this is the action version and the original anime is much . . . much . . . much . . . s l o w e r.

This was my entry for Project A-Kon>’s Music Video Showcase in 2005.

Sleepless Blue Water

Sleepless Blue Water

Sleepless Blue Water

Well, after a year’s hiatus, I had to make an amv, and here it is. Not the kind of anime character design I usually like, but the underwater effects in Blue Sub 6 are really impressive and fit with the water imagery in Sylvia Tosun’s song.

I cut this on a laptop using Windows Movie Maker, which for it’s you-can’t-edit-in-less-than-7-frames flaw, is still a fairly decent free program. Just be careful of leaving in flash frames of a previous/next scene because they don’t always show up in the timeline view.

If you like October/November Project’s kind of music, you’ll probably also like Sylvia Tosun>‘s stuff – I know I did.

Fruits Basket has *almost* replaced Cardcaptor Sakura as my favorite anime. Again, another October Project song, and as usual, I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

Originally I was using the imagery from anime to tell the story of the song (something a bit different), but looking at the final version, there is a lot of Kyo & Tohru in there as well . . . or as much as any of my mvs relate to the original story of the anime. 🙂

Secret Game

Secret Game

The visuals are incredible in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, and there are so many obvious great scenes featuring D that are perfect for a music video … none of which I used in this anime music video to another Noir song.

I am not a fan of the original Vampire Hunter D movie, and while the trailers I had seen looked cool, I wasn’t that interested in seeing the new version: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. But I borrowed the DVD from my friend Patryn, watched it, and really liked it.
